A virtual (online) coordination meeting and discussion of the proposed plan to establish a USU Faculty/School of Architecture and Planning is held by USU Department of Architecture and the USU FT Faculty Advisory Board (DPF). The meeting's goal is to explain the strategic plan for establishing the USU Faculty/School of Architecture and Planning to stakeholders within the USU Faculty of Engineering, as well as terms like input and support, which will be discussed further at a later stage during the USU Academic Senate leadership meeting.
Ir. Nurlisa Ginting, MSc, Ph.D., HDI, chaired and presented the presentation on the establishment of the USU Faculty/School of Architecture and Planning. In her presentation, she conveyed the importance of establishing the faculty/school from the aspect of the development of the grouping of architecture fields at various universities, which have a trend of unique and differences from engineering schools (engineering). Based on the business aspect, its needs, and relevance to the development and challenges of the work, the Architect Law No. 6 of 2017 requires building planners and the built environment to have specific skills that require adjustment, so the Department of Architecture can develop more if it is under the independent faculty.
